Amp'd Bros ACE-X Adventure S5 Road Legal Electric Bike
The fat tyre bike that kicked off Australia's fat-bike wave, rebuilt for Series 5. The ACE-X Adventure is the ACE dialled for distance and comfort: a big 960Wh Samsung-cell battery, a plush two-up seat, Maxxis all-terrain rubber and factory EN15194 certification. One bike that does the commute, the coastal track and the weekend run with a passenger on the back, legally, on the road and the bike path.
Why You'll Love It
- Goes the distance: 48V 20Ah battery built on premium Samsung 21700 cells, good for up to 80 km a charge. It's removable, so you charge it inside, not the bike.
- Pulls up hills: Bafang rear hub motor with 80 Nm of torque, plus Hill Boost for short bursts on the steep stuff. The bike does the hard work, you stay fresh.
- Stops when it counts: 2-piston hydraulic discs on oversized 203 mm rotors. Big rotors matter when you're carrying two.
- Grips everywhere: tough Maxxis all-terrain 20 x 4" fat tyres float over sand and gravel and stay planted on wet bitumen.
- Connected: Ampd Bros GO App with live 4G GPS tracking, digital key, remote lock and alerts, ride stats, parental controls and software updates.
- Built for two: redesigned ribbed two-up comfort seat, adjustable front suspension and a 180 kg max load.
- Make it yours: customisable side panels and premium black spokes throughout.
Road Legal in Australia
This is the factory EN15194 road model (certificate SGS-260938-EA, which is also its NSW approval). It's rated at 250W continuous, pedal assist cuts out at 25 km/h and the throttle works as a 6 km/h walk assist only. That's what lets you ride it on roads and bike paths with no licence or rego. From March 2029 NSW will only allow EN15194 e-bikes on roads and paths, so this bike is already ahead of the rules. The road and off-road versions are built differently at the factory and one can't be converted to the other later.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far will the ACE-X Adventure go on a charge?
Up to 80 km on the 960Wh battery. Expect the top figure on flat ground in a low assist level; hills, a passenger, headwinds and cold mornings bring it down. The battery is removable for charging indoors.
Can I carry a passenger?
Yes. The long two-up seat is built for two and the bike carries up to 180 kg in total. Check your state's rules on carrying passengers on a bicycle before you double up on the road.
Does it have a throttle?
Yes, but on this road-legal model it works as a walk assist up to 6 km/h, as the Australian rules require. Above that, the motor only helps while you pedal. If you want an unrestricted throttle for private property, look at the off-road version.
What does the GO App do?
It links the bike to your phone over 4G: live GPS location, alerts if the bike is moved, unlock with your phone, ride stats, power settings, parental controls and over-the-air software updates.
What's the difference between Step Over and Step Through?
Step Over (the X frame) has a cross bar for a stiffer, sportier feel. Step Through (S frame) drops the bar so you can walk straight onto the bike, which suits riders who find it hard to swing a leg over. Ride and specs are otherwise the same.
What warranty does it come with?
Amp'd Bros covers its adult e-bikes with a 2-year Australian warranty that includes the battery, backed by a national network of service agents. Twelve Board Store is an authorised Amp'd Bros dealer, so warranty claims are handled properly.

Let customers speak for us
Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
