Orangatang Fat Free Wheels | 65mm/80a
A compact 65mm freeride wheel for slides, spins and tricks.
The Fat Free is Orangatang's lean 65mm wheel for freeride and freestyle. It's light and nimble, so it spins, slides and rotates easily, which makes it a great choice for technical slides, shuv-its and board tricks on longboards and cruisers. This set is the 80a durometer.
It's poured in Happy Thane with rounded lips and a stone-ground surface, so it slides smoothly straight out of the bag. A 45mm width and narrower 37mm contact patch help it break loose predictably, and the rounded lips let slides release cleanly and hook back up gently. At 130g per wheel, it's light under your feet.

About Orangatang
Orangatang was hatched in Southern California in 2008 as the sister wheel brand of Loaded Boards. The two still share a building and most of the same crew in Culver City: Loaded builds the boards, and Orangatang makes what they roll on.
Orangatang is known for its Happy Thane urethane, a smooth, fast, high-traction formula, poured into shapes for every kind of longboarding, from compact freeride wheels to 105mm giants for distance pushing and e-skate. Every wheel is listed with real numbers for width, contact patch, lip shape and bearing seat, so you can choose exactly the ride you want.
FAQs
What are Orangatang Fat Free wheels best for?
Freeride and freestyle. The rounded lips, stone-ground surface and narrow 37mm contact patch make slides easy and predictable, and the light 65mm size is great for spins, shuv-its and technical tricks.
What does 80a mean?
80a is a soft-to-medium urethane hardness on the A scale. On the Fat Free it gives good grip and a smooth ride, with plenty of slide thanks to the shape. Go harder (83a or 86a) for easier, drifty slides on smooth roads.
Do I need risers for 65mm wheels?
Usually not on a drop-through or drop-deck board. On a topmount longboard or cruiser, a small 1/8" riser is often enough. Check for wheelbite at full lean if you run loose trucks.
Are Fat Frees good for beginners learning to slide?
Yes. Orangatang says the rounded lips keep hook-up gentle from your first stand-up slide to your fastest, and the stone-ground surface slides predictably straight out of the box. That makes them an easy wheel to learn on.
Do they come with bearings?
No, they're sold as wheels only. You'll need 8 standard 608 skate bearings for a set of 4, and on longboard wheels we recommend bearings with built-in spacers, or separate spacers, for a smoother, longer-lasting setup.

Let customers speak for us
Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
